How You Can Help
Thanks so much for your interest in supporting our work! Below, you will find five areas of general support, followed by another section with some more specific suggestions for those wanting to send a care package.
- Pray for Us
- Donate to MCC
- Solidarity Dinners
- Shop at 10,000 Villages
- Bring a Group
Your thoughts and prayers are very important to us. We have prayer cards available from our family if you would like to receive one. Simply send us an email with your address, or fill out our contact form.
The work of Friends Peace House and our service here is supported by the generous constituency of Mennonite Central Committee. Although we are not required to raise money, we encourage friends and family to consider becoming part of our network of support. If you you wish to make a financial contribution, you can specify that your donation to MCC be earmarked for our work in Rwanda. If you want to learn more about dontating to MCC, you can visit their website or even sign-up for their bi-monthly newsletter for free on our website.
Through "Solidarity Dinners" you have a chance to learn more about Rwanda's food and culture while also contributing to the health and well-being of our neighbors. We help you organize the dinner by providing simple Rwandan recipes and optional evening activities. Instead of going out to a restaurant with friends, you invite them to join you for the evening at your home, and then you use the money that would have been spent at the restaurant to support hungry Rwandans. Email us for more information.
Since 1946 Ten Thousand Villages has supported the work of literally tens of thousands of artisans in over 30 countries in Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East, making us one the largest fair trade organizations in North America. Working with more than 100 artisan groups, they purchase fine pieces from craftspeople with whom they have longstanding, nurturing relationships…helping to bring dignity to their lives. You can read more about this partner of MCC at their website.
Beginning in 2008, we would be happy to host North American groups for cross-cultural immersion trips to Rwanda. Send us an email if you are interested in discussing this further.

Gone are the days when we could jump in the car and make a run to the supermarket, which has been more of a blessing than a curse. There are many things, however, that we would be more than happy to have access to while here in Rwanda. If you are interested in sending us a care package, then please consider some of the following options.
For the boys: children's books, magazines, Legos, audio books (you can even send us a gift certificate through Audible.com or iTunes), coloring books, Kids' DVDs (especially if they have a French track).
Some other items: a small travel bible, #2 pencils, an oven thermometer, parmesan cheese, little packets of ketchup, chocolate and other goodies, magazines, books and movies.
It's relatively easy and reliable for us to receive packages here in Rwanda, but be warned that it is expensive to send them! Our address is P.O. Box 4678, Kigali, Rwanda. It would also be helpful to include our phone number on the package (08643402). You will need to include a description of what is inside the package before you send it, which can be general (ie. children's toys). However, we recently found out you should make sure that you declare the value at less than $50 (even if it's not), otherwise we face import hurdles.
Through MCC, we also get a small monthly stipend. If you want to send us some personal money to "splurge" with, then you can simply send a check to MCC and note that it is for the Froehlichs' PDA (personal drawing account). Thanks so much for your support, and particularly your prayers.
