Summer Days

Posted Jul. 11th, 2007

The summer days have arrived, and along with them many changes in our family's schedule and priorities. Celeste and I are trying to spend as much time with the boys as possible, which makes our work schedules rather challenging to juggle at the moment. Friends' Peace House is currently going through a number of changes of their own, and we are doing our best to be supportive in their growth and empowerment. It is a challenging time, however—to be honest—and we are often filled with uncertainty and confusion about our role here.

Although I need to be brief, I wanted to post a short update because there is a chance we will be heading to Nairobi for meetings in the coming days/weeks. During that time, we are not sure how much access we will have to email or the internet. Our cell phones will also not work while we are in Kenya, so we will not be as reachable as we have been up to this point.

Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers, because we are definitely in need of grace and courage as we face some challenging issues, both personally and professionally. We will do our best to stay in touch in the coming weeks, but until then, know that we are all persevering and doing our best to cherish the time we have together during the school holidays!

Love and gratitude,
Aaron

Thank you Aaron for keeping us aware of what is happening. Our prayers are with you as you travel to Nairobi, and as each of you meet the challenges in front of you. Continue always in faith that "God is in all and all is in God." Appearances are often mighty deceiving. God holds each of you in his hands always. You are not alone. Your family here in the states holds you, Celeste, David, Eli, and all the people with which you live, in our hearts continually and hearts know no distance. God's love is infinite and surrounds you always. "It's not the life you live, but the courage that you bring to it." You and Celeste are "doing small things with great love." Love and humility is shown through the courage to act even with the uncertainty that is laced through every moment. The greater your uncertainty the more surely you see, and the greater your courage and love.
